This is an anthology of texts written by Fernando Pessoa that deal with the very activity of writing. In this book, the Portuguese poet who created multiple selves through letters reflects in a labyrinthine way on writing and subjectivity, writing and forgetting, writing and sensation. There are 25 texts taken from the Book of Disquiet, Pessoa's great unfinished work, created under the heteronym Bernardo Soares.
But the book has an unprecedented difference: the texts are crossed by graphic interferences made by Pessoa himself, which were taken from the originals of the work. They are erasures made by hand or typewriter, which reveal the author's oscillations, vacillations, doubts and choices. In this way, *Escrever é Esquecer* also shows a little of the creative process of one of the greatest authors of the Portuguese language. In addition, the work includes some facsimiles of the original manuscripts written by Pessoa, which are semi-hidden on the transparencies of the pages (and the reader, if they wish, can access them by tearing the sides of the pages). Conceived as a book-object, the work explores different types of paper and an alternative binding, made by hand.
